Linitop Classic is a solvent-based decorative woodstain which colours the surface of the wood. With a semi-transparent, matt sheen finish it allows the grain to show through, enhancing the natural beauty of the wood. It is available in 14 different coloured finishes, including clear, and is suitable for use on vertical wood surfaces, both interior and exterior.

With a thixotropic formula (meaning it’s like a gel) which will not run, Linitop Classic is easy to apply using a brush, roller or sprayer and with usual application requiring only 2 coats it’s quick to complete too. Linitop Classic contains a high solid content at 60% which allows it to give superb UV protection – twice the protection per coat of other woodstains. It can even be applied on top of another woodstain and has excellent resistance to bad weather.

For an even richer colour, you can use a basecoat of Linitop Primer & Finish which will penetrate the wood, staining the fibres. You can then continue with 2 coats of Linitop Classic in the usual manner to achieve a particularly rich colour but still get the enhanced UV protection.

What can I use Linitop Classic decorative woodstain for?

  • Protecting wooden doors, windows and frames
  • Decorating beams, panelling and other interior wood
  • Providing UV protection for sheds and summer houses
  • Giving excellent weather resistance to gates and fencing
  • Protecting exterior wood from bad weather

Tips from the Professionals

  1. Avoid use on Iroko, Red Cedar and wood types containing anti-oxidant (use Linitop Primer & Finish in these cases)
  2. Always apply Linitop Acryl Prim in the direction of the grain
  3. On new wood, wood made bare and wood that is not durable and hasn’t been treated with a preservative, it is recommended first treating with an insecticide, fungicide and anti-blue stain agent
  4. During application, pay particular attention to grooves and butts
  5. When working with a spray gun, smooth with a brush to avoid any running and to aid the penetration of the product
